Meet the Founder - Rachael Bosanquet, Founder & Company Director of MFA Business Support
Building a business where the right work sits with the right people
Rachael Bosanquet is the Founder and Company Director of MFA Business Support, helping businesses access the capacity, skills and expertise they need across Admin, Sales, Marketing and Operations.
At the heart of MFA is a belief Rachael has carried throughout her career: people do their best work when they're spending more of their time in their Golden Zone - the work that makes the best use of their skills, experience and strengths.
As businesses grow, that's not always easy. Founders take on responsibilities because someone has to do them. People within a business become responsible for work that doesn't make the best use of their expertise. And businesses can reach a point where they need additional skills or capacity without necessarily needing another full-time hire.
Rachael built MFA to provide another way.
A Business Built Around the Golden Zone
The idea behind the Golden Zone is simple: the right work should sit with the right people.
For Rachael, good business support isn't simply about getting tasks off a to-do list. It's about understanding what's happening within a business, where time and expertise are being used, and what could change if the right support was brought in.
Sometimes that's day-to-day administrative capacity. Sometimes it's someone who can generate and follow up sales opportunities. It might be marketing expertise, a CRM implementation, process improvement or operational support to turn a plan into action.
That's why MFA has evolved to provide support across four Hubs - Admin, Sales, Marketing and Operations - giving businesses one place to come when they need additional capacity or expertise.
A Creative Path to Business Leadership
Before building MFA, Rachael developed a varied career across events, architecture and tech, giving her first-hand experience of different businesses, working environments and ways of getting things done.
Her entrepreneurial experience, however, started much earlier.
As a professional singer-songwriter, Rachael experienced the realities of running a business before she necessarily thought of herself as a business owner. Alongside writing, recording and performing, she managed her own album release, organised multiple UK radio tours, coordinated gigs and tours, built her website, and handled the press releases, promotion, marketing, finances and logistics behind her music career.
Looking back, she sees that period as an important foundation for the way she works today.
It taught her to be resourceful, proactive and willing to figure things out - but it also showed her just how many different roles one person can end up trying to fulfil.
That experience has stayed with her as MFA has grown.
From My Freelance Admin to MFA Business Support
MFA began as My Freelance Admin, initially focused on giving businesses access to experienced administrative support.
But as clients' needs developed, so did the support they came to MFA for.
A client who initially needed admin might later need help improving a process. Another might need a CRM setting up, sales activity moving, an event coordinating or marketing expertise they didn't have internally.
Over time, the business had grown beyond what the original name represented.
MFA Business Support reflects what the business has become: one place for businesses to access experienced people across Admin, Sales, Marketing and Operations, with support that can change as their needs change.
The name may have evolved, but the principle behind the business hasn't: understand what someone needs, find the right skills and experience for it, and put the right work in the right hands.
Rachael's Role Today
Today, Rachael leads the strategic direction and continued development of MFA Business Support.
A significant part of her role is understanding what is really happening within a client's business. Rather than expecting clients to arrive knowing exactly which service or person they need, Rachael uses the Discovery Call to explore what's taking up time, where additional expertise might be needed and what the business is trying to achieve.
From there, MFA can identify the right person - or combination of people - and recommend the most appropriate way to provide that support.
Rachael also continues to shape MFA's client experience, service development, systems and wider growth, while building relationships with experienced people whose different skills allow MFA to respond to an increasingly broad range of business needs.
What Rachael's Known For
Rachael is known for her ability to see connections between people, problems and possibilities.
She's particularly good at listening to what's happening within a business, identifying where the right support could make a difference and bringing together people with complementary skills and experience.
Her approach combines creative thinking with practical business sense - looking at the bigger picture while staying focused on what can actually be done to move things forward.
And the Golden Zone remains at the centre of it all: helping business owners and the people around them spend more of their time doing the work where they add the most value.
